I’ve worked as a professional writer for more than 17 years. My projects have included a wide variety of materials, ranging from magazine feature articles to marketing collateral, from executive speeches to poetry and blog posts.
While my present focus centers around developing a personal writing voice (largely through this blog) and completing several faith-based book proposals, my diverse professional writing background informs and enriches all my projects.
Throughout my career, I have been frequently published and have worked with large urban corporations and nationally distributed publications. My articles have been featured in Pittsburgh’s largest daily newspaper, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the University of Pittsburgh’s respected alumni publication, Pitt Magazine, and the award-winning community periodical, Mt. Lebanon Magazine.
I have also completed more than 30 syndicated food and lifestyle features that have appeared in newspapers across the country. Return clients include the West Penn Allegheny Health System, H.J. Heinz Company, Family Features Editorial Syndicate, the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon University, and Point Park University.
In particular, my writing for Mt. Lebanon Magazine earned me both an IABC Award of Honor in Feature Writing and a Matrix Honorable Mention in Editorial Writing for a Monthly Publication.
While I currently work independently as a writer, past full-time positions have included senior writer, communications manager, and development writer.
In addition to my work credentials, I graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University’s nationally recognized E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, with a 4.0 major GPA and a 3.9 overall GPA.
